The Alkhayyat Foundation has provided COSTI funding to establish:

 

The Refugee Youth Leadership Program.

 

This program aims to engage the participation and development of Refugee students grades 9-11, with a priority on Syrian refugee youth. The project will support their integration and settlement through youth specific services that provide a continuum of wrap around supports delivered in Scarborough and Mississauga. The program provides individual and group programming including English as a Second language (ESL) , leadership training, and an exchange program for refugee youth that is responsive to their needs. The program will work to ensure that more refugee students stay in school and provide successful models for future arriving refugees. The program will serve 90 youth over a two year period.
